Jo Anne inspired and taught Lauren to quilt from a young age. Their bond grew over their shared fabric stash, the prospect of a new project, and excitement for their next quilt show! In addition to years of quilting and creating, Lauren has a design background from Cornell University. Jo Anne has won awards at the Great New York State Fair and viewer's choice (3 times!!) at the Thread Bear's Quilters Guild. One of Jo Anne's quilts was also selected for the Best of New York quilt show. They both have over 20+ years of quilting experience and are ready to take their quilting to new heights! We offer professional hand-guided quilting services using a Bernina quilting machine on a long-arm frame. We work in a smoke-free environment, and offer free-motion and pantograph quilting services.
Free-motion stitching: wandering curves that cover entire quilt, edge to edge
Free-motion stitching: simple, artistic patterns will vary, sketched across quilt, edge to edge
Simple repeating pattern, quilted edge to edge
Dense or intricate repeating pattern, quilted edge to edge
Quilting style or pattern on border is different than quilting style in body of quilt
Batting is placed between the quilt top and the quilt back. The type of batting you use will impact the structure and weight of the quilt.
We recommend Hobbs & Quilter's Dream battings. You may also provide your own batting with your quilt top. However, we do not accept felt or unconventional batting substitutions.
Fabric for the back side of the quilt.
Backing fabric will be pressed and squared. If backing fabric needs to be seamed, we will use a 1.5 mm stitch to ensure backing seam is strong enough for quilt frame.
We use 100% cotton or polyester thread for quilting. We offer solid and variegated thread color options to coordinate with your quilt. Cost of thread is based on quilt size, as listed below - or $0.0005/sq. in of quilt
We offer machine binding services to finish the edges of your quilt. If you opt to use our binding services, your binding may be traditionally sewn to the quilt top only, for you to complete (binding finishes at 3/8 "). We also offer a machine-sewn finished binding option, with the binding sewn to the front and back of the quilt with mitered corners (binding finishes at 1/4").
* Please note that quilts are completed in the order upon which they are received. We will decide on a a case-by-case basis if we can meet your time requirement based on our workload. We will estimate a reasonable completion time before accepting a quilt. Quilts that need to be completed by an earlier deadline than our current workload permits, require that we work overtime. An additional $10/hr overtime fee will be assessed for expedited services.
